White precipitation in Worcester Park

One of my big disappointments about being in this country for Christmas (as opposed to Cyprus or such like) was not having the proverbial "White Christmas", particularly seeing as I'd driven four and a half hours each way to the Peak District in the hope of getting one. Receiving a phone call this morning from the Peaks to say it was now snowing didn't help, but that was soon remedied by a snow flurry, the results of which are captured below:

Brinkster Central at it's best..... I was going to take a photo of Central Road but there wasn't a trace of it there.

On a separate subject my relatives conspired together with the www.francisfrith.com to obtain some presents based on WP, namely a full sized version of this:

and the map of the area in 1894(ish) showing that the Huntsman's, The Plough and The Queen Victoria Inn (North Cheam) were all established by then:

Ironic really that with several thousand more people here now there's still about the same number of pubs.

Nice picture of Central Road, dunno when it was taken but it looks like I remember it as a child, I was born in '66.
Is that really Brinkley Road? Looks too posh to me...

Hi Huntsman!

I only moved here in 97 so it's amazing to see things in WP like:
* No white lines in the middle of the road and hardly a car to be seen,
* Cycles being ridden on the road and walked on the pavement,
* No travel agents and charity shops.....etc, etc

Yes, that really is the Central Road end of Brinkley Road...... maybe being higher up the hill means we got more snow than the Huntsmans
