The former Cancer Research shop, seen here on the left of KFC, is soon to be an optician's according to the sign in the window. I would tell you the name of the newcomer but I can't remember how to spell it offhand so will resort to calling it "D&A". WP isn't flush with opticians but hopefully this one won't oust the one further up the hill which Mrs Brinkster frequents.
There seems to be a rash of house selling down Brinkley Road at the moment, with
number 10 on for £320k,
almost opposite for £285k and three doors further down
this for £265k. Guess which one's got the 'Sold' sign outside?
I've had a request from a reader for advice about the Old Drill and whether it's a worthwhile drinking hole. I can't really comment as I only went in there once on a sunday night a few years ago and disliked it enought not to want to go back. I may be being unfair and it might have changed since then so please chip in with any comments if you've ever been there. In the meantime you could always check out the review on BeerInTheEvening.
