Another update

More news from the local Guardian about the girl injured in the train incident yesterday:
"The 15-year-old, a student at Raynes Park High School, suffered massive blood loss in the accident and has had her spleen removed. She also has an injured left foot and is thought to have a fractured pelvis. The girl was taken away on a stretcher and rushed to St George's Hospital in Tooting as police cordoned off the accident site yesterday. She is believed to be in a stable but serious condition and the next 48 hours are critical."

That's not sounding as good as the initial reports and is a bit vague. Perhaps The Parkerilla will have an update to this comment

In mundane news I've removed the 'captchas' from the contact and comment fields to make getting in touch easier!

Yesterday I caught the train from WP just before 8am. I was in the ticket hall and as the train pulled in a lady said to me "they're still standing over the yellow line, they wont learn". Indeed most people were standing over the line, many of whom would have been there when the accident happened the day before but didn't seem to be bothered about their safety. You would have thought it would have shaken the complacency about trains out of them.

This morning I caught the 8.42 from WP and did a quick a count up as the train approached and pulled into the station. There were 27 people on the platform in the area just in front of the ticket hall and 18 were standing over the yellow line. One person had one of his feet on the white line at the edge of the platform as the trained pulled in. And it wasn't particularly crowded, people weren't "clustered" for the doors as they are at busy times. Me, I was stood well back like I always do, being a natural born cautious person.
