Heard from a Huntsman regular last night that the Huntsman's Hall is reopening this Monday (1st Oct) under new management. Thats a rumour but I believe its reliable.
Although the builders /decorators have filled a couple of skips over the last week or so the place hasn't been fully refurbished, its just been painted and tarted up a bit.

Bumped into someone whos boyfriend is a police officer at Sutton police station. Confirmed what was obvious, after two weeks as a "nightclub" the police closed the Huntsman down for drugs and disorder related to drugs. Apparently the police having been looking for an opportunity to close down the pub for an extended period for some time. I've lived in WP for 8 years and I can remember two previous occasions of temporary weekend closure/restricted opening but this one looked permanent until the decorators moved in.

Egg on my face ... had a look through the windows a couple of hours ago, doesn't look ready to open tomorrow. Still have faith in my Huntsman contact though.
