The Silence of the Wii

Sorry all. Had the good fortune to win a Nintendo Wii in a competition and since it arrived on Monday the Brinkster Clan has been held in the kind of hypnotic thrall that Paul McKenna could only dream of.

As a result I've entirely failed to blog about the lovely neighbour's bbq we went to last Sunday, the unmarked Ford Galaxys that appeared in Brinkley Road on Monday with lots of Police in them looking as though they were going somewhere local to enforce something, and the continuing work on 'The Rose Spa' and the sewing machine shop on Central Road.

Incidentally, has anybody noticed that the shop next to the sewing machine shop also has work going on? I don't think it's related but don't have any other ideas as to what it might be either.

Disappointingly there's no sign of action on the Bikehut front. Maybe nobody wanted to work there.......

Well done - I also have a wii. I can recommend Zelda and Resident Evil 4 if you want your social life to be consumed by Nintendo. Other than that I have found pickings a bit slim so far. wii sports still gets plenty of action 6 months down the line.

On another note, I tried the Caffe Piccolo on Saturday. Food was good, I can see why they have been doing a brisk trade. Waiter was a bit surley mind you - gave it that authentic italian edge ;-)

Games aside I'm pleased to say we have yet to exhaust the rich vein of humour offered by the name of this entertaining appliance, my favourite being "Doctor! It hurts when I Wii!"

Puerile I know, but I've never claimed to be Shakespeare.

Thanks for the feedback on CP! Must give it a go sometime (being at the end of the road and all).

I hear that the shop next to the sewing machine shop is going to be a barbers. Something to do with Hair by Fiko I'm told. Lets wait and see??

Excellent stuff. If you play wii sports for a couple of hours solid the following day you may well be complaining of wii-related injuries or bragging of being able to "wii non stop for 120 minutes" ;-)
