Long time, no blog.

Due to an outbreak of "real life" I haven't posted for a bit so I apologise to those who love their weekly dose of Worcester Park trivia. I can't believe it's been a whole month though.

Not much happening on Central Road at the moment. The new (supposedly) Italian Restaurant" is still boarded up, although the fact that I see swarthy builders leaving the place most days bears testament to a work in progress. I see that "Dune Park Ltd" has applied to put a new shopfront in that location, although Google's not very enlightening as to who they are.

No sign of Golden Arches or civil unrest at the top of Central Road either, meaning that my current pool of rumours is running dry without new input. Fortunately there is one new rumour, in that there's speculation that the waste land behind 105 (The Pet Shop) may be turned into a shop facing the Waitrose car park. Some have put two and two together and suggested that this may be the location of the Next that the residents of the Hamptons have been told about. We shall see.

Thankfully the bizarre hasn't entirely been pushed out by the mundane as I see that the now departed Chiropractic Health Clinic and defunct Iago (shown below) are being replaced by St Raphaels Hospice charity shop and Garner's Funeral Services respectively. Make up your own jokes please.

Ryan Gate revolution!!!

This addition of cafe style tables and chairs at Ryan Gate seems to have been the final blow as the astonishing news comes out that they have seen off the competition with Marks & Spencers directly across the road shutting up shop shortly as it's no longer "commercially viable".

It's a good job I'm already sitting down as that's one I wouldn't have predicted. Mrs Brinkster is in mourning as she'll have to look elsewhere for high quality evening snacks!
